The hidden self
Or.. what people share is not the truth
Ever notice that people only tell you stuff they want to and not the real issues they are facing.
I was mulling this over the other day.
Our ego-mind is the small self: like the analytical left brain that wants to compartmentalise, judge, create a problem, fix a problem, sort things or people into boxes, regiment, organise, and it generally considers itself to be in charge and it acts in a way that is arrogant.
Our ego-mind also tends to “overthink,” meaning that it compares what happened in the past with the situation you are in now. It weighs us down with out-of-date information. It protects us by presenting a face to the world that is not vulnerable.
The bigger Self is our innate wisdom, always there and always wise. It is creative, loving, kind and compassionate. If the bigger Self has a fresh idea or an inspired thought, the ego-mind jumps right on it and picks it apart; it tries to give you all the reasons why it won’t work.
To its credit, the ego-mind tries to keep us safe by putting up barriers and roadblocks, but they often sound like, "You're not clever enough to do that,” or, “Who do you think you are wanting that?” It is not necessarily helpful.
So true that people are hiding their true problems or acting out in a way that keeps that hidden.
Great when you can see this for yourself as this will enable you to go forward into the future with your eyes wide open and grasp new opportunities whilst being compassionate with people you encounter.

Reading this, I thought of the ontological radiation field in Code Bản Thể. The hidden self is like a seed beneath the soil unseen, yet radiating life energy. When the root is steady, that radiation naturally extends outward, allowing others to sense our true presence without us needing to show it.
